  • Do you accept PT hours in place of AT hours?

    We accept PT hours on a conditional basis. Please contact the program director for more information.  

  • What times and days are classes typically held?

    • It changes depending on the term. 
    • Summer 1st year: During the day Monday-Thursday 
    • Fall 1st year: Afternoon and evening classes Monday-Friday 
    • Spring 1st year: Morning and afternoon classes Monday-Friday 
    • Summer: optional location for clinical rotation, classes asynchronous online 
    • Fall 2nd year: Morning and afternoon classes Monday-Friday 
    • Spring 2nd year: optional location for clinical rotation, classes asynchronous online 

  • What is the modality of the classes?

    Mix of In Person and Virtual Classes 

  • Do you allow part-time students?

    No, students must be full-time/ stick to the program of study 

  • Are there opportunities for students to get hands on experience in the field?

    Yes, all students are required every term in the program (except first summer) to complete clinical rotations in order to be board eligible. These are not paid opportunities. 

  • What sets our program apart from similar programs at other institutions?

    Connections within sport industry, close knit personalized education, student centered program, elective to individualize their plan of study in the summer between year one and two. 

  • What are some examples of career opportunities for students who graduate from the program?

    Pro, college, high school sport setting, hospital, outpatient physical therapy clinic, industrial and performing arts setting. 

  • Does the program offer study abroad/ international travel opportunities?

    Yes, in the summer between year one and two the student could elect to complete their clinical rotation at Teeside University in England or University or at Camilo Jose Cela University in Spain for 5 weeks. 

  • What is the program's clinical education plan?

    • Clinical plan (subject to change): 
    • Year One Fall: (1 X 14-week UM sport) 
    • Year One Spring: (2 X 7-week rotations high school/clinic/hospital/ or UM sport) 
    • Year Two Summer: (1 X 5-week rotation setting of your choice any location in country or international as long as an affiliation with the clinical site can be built. Alternatively, a student can request from our list of preexisting clinical sites local and nationally (2 international). If a student is interested in professional sports, they are encouraged to apply for internships with PFATS and PBATS to count towards this) 
    • Year Two Fall: (1 X 14-week rotations high school/clinic/hospital/ or UM sport) 
    • Year Two Spring: (1 X 14 weeks full time setting of choice can be local or national where an affiliation exists or can be built- attempt to work with student to build affiliations in location and setting of their choice).
